Postponed premiere

Staying true to its origins, but constantly reinventing itself, with this new work, GKO offers us a kumbia mixed with rhythms and music from around the world. The orchestra thus claims its intercultural side. Beyond being a Montreal troupe, it is positioned as a gathering of artists reflecting the richness that flourishes in the cultural diversity of the city. The GKO wishes to bring such artistic mixin all its splendour.

The show begins with a fisherman boarding a boat hoping to find what he is looking for. In this vessel, he meets other people from different backgrounds, with their own stories and dreams. Among them, a stowaway, a madman insists again and again: "The storm is approaching!" VelkomBak is an epiphany of life and hope, like a bright, strong and free eagle, rising from the waters with Colombian rhythms, dance and circus.
