Gran rifa d'un fabulos viatge à Mexic (Great Raffle for a Wonderful Trip to Mexico) is an in-situ project about the Spanish Republican exile to Mexico following the victory of fascism in Spain in 1939.

What would you bring with you to feel at home when far away from your country?

Using this question as a starting point, Obskené and Teatro Ojo theatre companies are calling on citizens to take part in a raffle for a trip for one to Mexico. The winner will retrace the route of the Civil War exiles, from Veracruz to Mexico DF.

The project consists of three parts: an installation of objects supplied by citizens participating in the draw, a gala where the winner of the raffle will be announced and during which the citizens will explain why they chose their particular objects.A participatory project that explores the notions of memory, exile and home without forgetting the celebratory nature of theatre.
